Give on Give Ozarks Day – Support ORLT Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016

What if all the Ozarks came together on one day to give back? What could we accomplish? That’s what Give Ozarks is trying to find out.

So What is Give Ozarks Day?

Give Ozarks is a 24 hour online fundraising effort to support non-profits all over the Ozarks. From midnight to midnight on Tuesday May 3rd, thousands will visit giveozarks.org and donate to their favorite non-profits and causes.

Last year, 150 nonprofits raised more than $1 million, including more than $200,000 in prizes and matching incentives. For 2016, we are hoping to be even more successful!

Why Should I Give to Ozark Regional Land Trust on Give Ozarks Day?

This year, ORLT will be restoring two unique habitats of the Ozarks: Sarcoxie Cave and Spring, and Woods Prairie – both owned by ORLT and located in southwest Missouri. Our goal is to make each of these beautiful areas open to the public for their enjoyment. Your contribution to ORLT will provide the funds we need to manage these preserves for public access. Other ORLT Preserves will also benefit from your contribution as well!

Sarcoxie Cave and Spring is located in the town of Sarcoxie. With your support, we will improve the habitat to protect two rare species of fish, the Ozark Cavefish and Arkansas Darter, while also creating a trail around the habitat for the community to enjoy. Woods Prairie in Mount Vernon is a special preserve for visitors to see fabulous prairie flowers in bloom – over 56 plant species are found here! But to keep the flowers blooming, we must remove invasive species, conduct periodic burns, and ensure our parking area is maintained.

How do I Give to ORLT and Other Ozark Charities?

From midnight to midnight (24 hours) on Tuesday, May 3rd, ORLT’s Donation Page will be active and accepting your generous donations. During this time, ORLT will also be competing for a variety of cash prizes. Some of these prizes are based on the number of donations received from unique donors in an hour, others are for total donors, and still others are based on other factors like best marketing campaign and even random “luck of the draw” prizes. So please donate anytime and help us also win some prize money!

You can also help by spreading the word. Please share the posts on our ORLT Facebook page and encourage your family and friends to contribute. Watch for more email updates as we get closer to the date.

Remember, it’s not about how much you give but that you give. Thank you for your continued support!

Spring Membership Renewals

Spring is that time to re-commit to Ozark Regional Land Trust and its important work to preserve the conservation legacy of the Ozarks. Memberships expire on May 31. We ask ORLT supporters to be generous again and renew your commitment to the Ozarks. Membership dollars support staff time in the fields, hills and streams. Your membership matters – things get done and land is protected because of you.

You may sign up online with ORLT’s new membership page. With it, you have the option of paying yearly, or monthly.
